5. FOOD & CAKES

Good morning, my lovely readers! Yes, I'm posting really early today as I smell a fairly good day ahead of me. Maybe because I'll get to see my partner at the end of a tiring day, and that alone can take away all kinds of negative feelings.. This I swear to God, man.

Anyway, in any case you guys are curious, here are a few of my confirmed vendors as of now (who knows it may change kan):

1) Catering & Decor: ANIS & DIN (no website available, but you can try google-ing them for pictures)

I first came across their food at my friend's wedding earlier this year and boy, are they good! The thing that caught me was the generous serving of mee soto! The queue for the mee soto was pretty long all day long, but during the both times that I passed by, they have topped it up to the brim! And then, during my cousin's wedding last month, I found out that she engaged in them as well!

Ohhhhhhh yeahhhhhhh..



This time, I discovered that during the rewang session the night before, they whipped up tulang merah! And it was complimentary! Yes, I don't eat tulang merah but I do know that my family members love it so I'm happy!

Abeh kan, in the morning, they served lontong for breakfast! Sighhhh, favorite nya saya luh kan! The quality of the food tasted the same, or maybe even better, but it's really good! We had a lot of great reviews from guests who attended the wedding.

And another thing that caught me this time was their berkat nasi for close relatives and friends. There was soooooo much balance of food at 1630hrs, that they packed up everything for us! Some of us even manage to take home about 3 bungkus.. 3 BUNGKUS TAU WEI, SATU MINGGU TAK PAYAH MASAK! :P

To add on to that, their decor was class. Seriously, it was just the way I would like mine to be - simple with a touch of princess posh. Ye luh, aku kan self-declared to be a Princess. Hehe. But anyway, it was the kind of decor where you would never expect for a basic package (according to my cousin). She, my aunt & uncle, were relatively happy & satisfied with their services.

Cik Din (he shares the same name as my dad - IS IT FATE?! :D) was nice enough to let us know in advance that there may be a slight change in package prices for 2014, which he will confirm again with us after he gets back from performing his Haj (Insya Allah, semoga dikabulkan haji yang mabrur.. Amin!).

And with that, I was genuinely certain and more than happy to put my entire function in their hands.



2) Wedding Cake: SPRINKLEMESS (website homepage under construction, but other tabs are still accessible)
I've known the owner of this site since my first job in 2007. I'm glad we've managed to keep our mutual friendship after so long, because.. SHE BAKES AWESOME GOODIES LUH GUYS!

I was surprised, actually, when I discovered that she bakes. Why am I surprised, you ask? Because I've always known her to be a tomboy - member was actively in our National Women's Soccer Team tau, jangan main-main! Mim, if you ever happen to be reading this, please take it as a compliment! You know how I feel about football! ;)

Well, back to her blooming business!

I engaged in her quite a couple of times, also spreading the love to my cousins who's made orders from her as well. And they all love it! I have to give it to her for her generous amount of chocolate in her cakes & brownies. I'm not sure if it's because I repeatedly mentioned how much I love chocolate, or memang she is generous like that but I'm definitely sure it's the latter!

Even if it isn't, I'm really satisfied with her works. Not just saying because she's my friend, really. Plus, I have to salute her for having juggled her job which requires her to work odd hours, and baking - even taking in last minute orders!



I approached her a year before my wedding, okay! Just to meticulously plan for my wedding cake! She was the one who gave me ideas, gave me a lot (and I mean, A LOT!) of options to choose from. I have always loved good customer service & I expect the same even from my friends. So, I was pretty pleased that she was able to email me the quotation within the night itself, just as she promised.

I can't even.. SO PRETTY KAN?! Sighhhhhh. Now, this makes me spoilt for choice. I've already briefly told her what me and my partner want to be the color theme for both our wedding cakes. Initially, I decided on pink/dark brown. Then today, I told her I wanted purple, after seeing how GORJES the purple ones look on Google. And I hope that would be my final choice, insya Allah! I just have to decide on the design.. Where do I start again? D:
